RIGHT: At the hart of the control systems was an ALLEN
BRADLY (R)
Control LOGIX PLC with a DEVICE-NET(R) communication
module
The PLC controlled Ac drives , weighing belt conveyors,
vibratory conveyors, ultrasonic sensors (used for level
detection in the storage hoppers) remote operator interfaces
as well as simple I/O.
UTILIZING THE DEVICE-NET (NETWORK) MINIMIZED THE
WIRING OF THE PLANT WIDE INSTALL SAVING TIME AND
MONEY
LEFT: A Panelview (R) 1000 color touch screen operator
interface was utilized for the main control station.
(2) Remote operator interfaces controlled the local conveyor system and
sent status information back to the main control station via  the
DEVICE-NET network.
